Itinerary
Your half-day exploration begins with a morning pickup from your Luxor hotel or Nile cruise. You'll cross the Nile to the West Bank, the ancient "City of the Dead." Your first destination is the Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground for pharaohs of the New Kingdom. Accompanied by your Egyptologist guide, you'll enter three selected royal tombs (such as those of Tutankhamun, Ramses VI, or Seti I—depending on availability), where you'll marvel at the vibrant hieroglyphs, intricate burial chambers, and vivid paintings that have survived for millennia, all designed to guide the pharaohs into the afterlife. After exploring the valley, you'll proceed to the breathtaking Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. This unique, multi-level terraced temple seems to rise organically from the limestone cliffs. Your guide will unravel the fascinating story of Egypt's powerful female pharaoh as you explore the colonnaded courtyards, reliefs depicting her divine birth and trading expeditions, and the sacred chapels dedicated to the gods. The tour concludes with a photo stop at the towering Colossi of Memnon, the two massive stone statues that once guarded the entrance to Amenhotep III's temple. You'll then be comfortably returned to your starting point by midday, having witnessed the pinnacle of ancient Egyptian royal legacy
